Instruments which produce sound through the vibration of air are known as aerophones. Blowhole and whistle instruments such as flutes, single mechanical reed instruments such as clarinets, and double mechanical reed instruments such as oboes are woodwind aerophones. Instruments like trumpets and horns, which have lip reeds or mouthpieces, are aerophones of the brass family. Some keyboard instruments, like organs and accordions, are also aerophones.
