Solutions provides assistance to schools and Ministries of Education
in the creation of educational technology plans. Our services range
from workshops which overview the planning process, assistance in
creating certain key plan elements such as vision, writing and editing,
and consulting contracts to oversee and facilitate an entire planning
process. We also help clients evaluate their existing plans in terms
of the effectiveness of their plan implementation.
ILLUMINAT
Education Solutions offers a wide range of professional development
programs for Education Professionals across the Caribbean. These
range from General Workshops on Technology Integration to subject
specific seminars. The programs attempt to meet the needs of all
shareholders in the education sector - teachers, principals and
administrators.
Our courses
are delivered on site at one of our training facilities. Class sizes
are kept small to allow for guided hands-on and individualized attention.

in Education Series
Technology
in Education for the Caribbean I
An introductory
course on the main computers applications for educators. The course
includes: computer basics; Windows operating environment; word processing
skills; and professional and instructional applications of word
processing, spreadsheet and database management programs. Learning
Theories are also introduced as foundations for the development
of Educational Technology
Technology
in Education for the Caribbean II
An advanced
course on computers applications for educators. The course focuses
on the instructional design and creation of computer-based curricular
materials for group and individual instruction within established
learning principles. There is a focus on the use of an object oriented
authoring system (e.g. Hyperstudio, Macromedia and
Internet authoring tools) to create multimedia applications for
the classroom. Software and website evaluation are also covered
in the course.
Technology
Planning For Education in the Caribbean
This is an intensive
one week training course for Administrators and other Education
Professionals. This course is designed to present viable educational
solutions specific to the Caribbean. It draws on the experiences
gained from pilot programs throughout the region as well as lessons
learnt from the International arena. A main focus is on the strategies
employed by countries and individual schools to actively and effectively
integrate technology into the teaching-learning process.

SuccessMaker
First Level Training
This is an
intensive three day workshop which introduces new users to the features
and routines of the CCC SuccessMaker package. Program implementation
and assessment strategies are also covered.
SuccessMaker
and Technology Integration Strategies for Teachers
This one day
workshop is designed to provide strategies for teacher integration
of technology in classrooms with students displaying conceptual
or skill difficulties in the CCC SuccessMaker courseware.
SuccessMaker
Technical Training
This is a five
day hands-on workshop specifically designed for technical personnel
and school-based Information Technology Coordinators. The workshop
provides participants with a thorough understanding of the technical
intricacies of the CCC SuccessMaker courseware. Installation
and maintenance procedures, as well as trouble shooting, are covered
in the course.
