ON 2006 CSEC EXAMINATIONS
TIMETABLE
1.
**Indicates a Multiple Choice Paper common to Basic
and General Proficiency.
2. The time indicated on the Timetable includes:
(i) Reading Time;
(ii) For Typewriting ONLY, an additional 10 minutes
allotted to “warm-up” on the typewriters
prior to the start of the examination.
3. Starting times for all centres within a territory
are 09:00 hr and 13:00 hr. If at any centre the number
of candidates is greater than can be accommodated
in one session, the Local Registrar may arrange to
administer the examination in two or more sessions,
ensuring that suitable arrangements are made to preserve
the integrity of the examinations.
4. Visual Arts:- A common paper containing all options
will be issued. Alternative Syllabus A requires two
Production Papers and an Illustrated Paper. Alternative
Syllabus B requires three Production Papers. Candidates
must select for the final examination those options
for which SBA assignments have been done.
The Test Papers are to be handed to candidates on
Friday, April 22. The examinations must be completed
during the period May 09-18.
All of the Options are 6-hour papers and should be
divided into two (2) 3-hour sessions with a break
of not less than 1 hour between sessions. These two
sessions need not be held on the same day.
5. French and Spanish Oral Examinations (Paper 3)
in each territory will be conducted during the period
April 25 –29 in accordance with the Local Registrar’s
schedule.
6. Candidates writing the Agricultural Science D/A
Papers 1 and 2 on May 23 must be given a 15-minute
break between these two papers. Candidates writing
Agricultural Science S/A Papers 2 and 3 on May 23
must be given a 10-minute break between these two
papers. (The order indicated on the timetable must
be followed).
7. Physics Papers 1 and 3 must be written in the same
session on June 06 with a 15-minute break between
them. Paper 3 must be written before Paper 1. There
will be a combined Question Paper/Answer Booklet for
Paper 2.

Biology Papers 1 and 3 must be written in the same
session on June 02 with a 15-minute break between
them. Paper 3 must be written before Paper 1. There
will be a combined Question Paper/Answer Booklet for
Paper 2.
9.
Chemistry Papers 1 and 3 must be written in the same
session on May 27, with a 15-minute break between
them. Paper 3 must be written before Paper 1. There
will be a combined Question Paper/Answer Booklet for
Paper 2
10.
The Practical Examinations in Music (Paper 2) in each
territory will be conducted during the period May
09-13 in accordance with the Local Registrar’s
schedule. For Music Paper 1 - there will be a 10-minute
break between Section I and Sections II & III.
Both papers for Music Paper 1 are combined Question
Paper/Answer Booklets.

The Practical Examinations in Physical Education and
Sport (Paper 2) in each territory will be conducted
during the period May 02-06 in accordance with the
Local Registrar’s schedule
12.
Attention is drawn to the rule that non-programmable
scientific calculators may be used in the following
examinations:
Building Technology: Construction
Building Technology: Woods
Chemistry
Electrical & Electronic Technology
Geography
Mathematics - Paper 2 only
Mechanical Engineering Technology
Physics
Principles of Accounts
13.
Information Technology: Computer workstations are
required for Paper 2 Technical. No printing will be
done in the time allotted for the examination. Time
will be given for printing at the end of the examination.
14.
An Alternative Paper to the Information Technology
2 (Technical Proficiency) will be available on May
20 for Group 2 candidates who did not take the Practical
Paper 2 examination on May 19. This is NOT an Alternative
Paper to SBA. Computer workstations are required for
this paper.
15. Caribbean History, Geography, Integrated Science
SA, Principles of Accounts, Principles of Business
and Office Procedures Papers 3/2 (Alternative to SBA)
must be sat by private candidates whose research projects
cannot be monitored by tutors in a recognised educational
institution. Further note that:-
(i) Principles of Accounts Papers 1 and 3/2 must
be written in the same session on May 24 with a
15-minute break between them. Paper 1 must be written
before Paper 3/2.
(ii) Principles of Business Papers 1 and 3/2 must
be written in the same session on May 31 with a
15-minute break between them. Paper 1 must be written
before Paper 3/2.
(iii) Office Procedures Papers 1 and 3/2 must be
written in the same session on June 09 with a 15-minute
break between them. Paper 1 must be written before
Paper 3/2.
(iv) Social Studies Papers 1 and 3/2 must be written
in the same session on June 09 with a 15-minute
break between them. Paper 1 must be written before
Paper 3/2.
(v) Caribbean History Papers 1 and 3/2 must be written
in the same session on June 13 with a 15-minute
break between them. Paper 1 must be written before
Paper 3/2.
(vi) Geography Papers 1 and 3/2 must be written
in the same session on June 01 with a 15-minute
break between them. Paper 1 must be written before
Paper 3/2.
16.
The time allocated for Electronic Document Preparation
and Management Paper 2 includes 10 minutes Reading
Time and 10 minutes to “warm-up” on the
computer prior to the start of the examination.
