ASSESSMENT
We
take a dynamic approach to assessment that puts
you, the participant, at the centre of the process.
You will have an opportunity to rate your own
performance during the courses through completion
of a detailed checklist of skills (in your Technology
Mastery Passport). This checklist allows both
participants and trainers to see at a glance
what skills have been completed and where gaps
still lie.
You will also be required to submit an electronic
portfolio of assignments that you find to be
the best representation of your work during
the course. The portfolio will be worth 60%
of your final grade. At the basic and intermediate
levels there will also be a final web-based
quiz worth 35% of your grade.
Class
participation is also an important part of all
classes. We ask that you complete the assigned
reading; come to class prepared; and contribute
your thoughts during class discussions. For
the practical sessions, you should always read
over the activities and requirements for the
day prior to the lab. You can be awarded up
to 5% of our final grade from class participation.
