EXEMPTIONS

Teachers may be exempted from all of part of a course based on the following criteria:

a. Teachers with certified evidence of the successful completion of the any one of the following are exempted from all TM101 Basic Technology Mastery modules:
i. Previous Basic Technology Mastery Course (conducted by Erdiston College);
ii. Associate Degree in Computer Studies;
iii. B.Sc. In Computer Studies;
iv. MS11A – Fundamentals of Computers, or similar course;
v. Equivalent Computer Studies programme at an approved tertiary institution.

b. Teachers scoring 80% or over in the Basic Technology Skills Questionnaire (conducted prior to the commencement of the course) are exempted from all course modules of the TM101 Basic Technology Mastery course(with the exception of: Integrated Unit Design and Creation and Integrated Unit Presentation).

c. Teachers satisfying criteria (a) and (b) who are desirous of certification at the basic level may complete the end-of-course examination or other professional certification.

d. In addition to the above, teachers with certified evidence of the successful completion of the Intermediate Technology Mastery Course conducted by Erdiston College are exempted from all modules of the TM201 Intermediate Technology Mastery course. Teachers satisfying this criterion and who are desirous of certification at the intermediate level may complete the end-of-course examination or other professional certification.

e. There are no exemptions from the TM301 Advanced Technology Mastery course.
